What is Sun Spot?
Sun Spots are not freckles, and they look like flat brown patches of skin. However, some sunspots’ color ranges from brown to black, and there are some that are red or white. Sun Spots usually appear on parts of your skin that are over-exposed to the UV rays. This is because of the excessive melanin production.
When the melanin-producing cells, melanocytes, are exposed to harmful UV rays, they try to protect your body by increasing melanin production. Normally, this reaction results in tan skin. But sometimes extra pigment can gather in one area becoming sunspots. The most common area for sun spots to appear are forehead, nose, cheeks and hands.
