BELLA PRE-AND-POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Kybella Pre-Care Instructions:

  • Inform your It’s A Secret Service Professional if you are on blood thinners or have had procedures or surgery of your lower face or neck.

  • Plan your procedure so that you can have 4 full days before returning to work or important social engagements. Full swelling can take up to a 3 weeks to completely resolve.

  • Ibuprofen can be taken following the procedure for swelling and discomfort.

  •  Zyrtec (an antihistamine) can be taken for discomfort and itching that may result from the procedure.

  • You can begin icing the area 15 minutes before the procedure to reduce itching, inflammation and pain associated with Kybella.

Kybella Post-Care Instructions:

  • After your treatment, you should expect swelling and redness. You may also experience bruising, pain, numbness, and/or induration to the treated area. This will normally last less than 5 days, and for some patients may last up to 14 days. If the symptoms continue beyond 10 days or if other reactions occur, please contact the office.

  • You may elect to ice the area post-treatment. Apply the ice pack alternating 20minutes on/30 minutes off for up to 72 hours post treatment. Please remember that due to associated sensation impairment, icing too vigorously can cause frostbite and scarring.

  • Do not participate in strenuous activity for 3 days following treatment. Sleeping upright will reduce swelling.

  • Do not scratch, pick or traumatize the area in any way. Do not massage or manipulate the injection site.

  • You may wash your face the following morning using the products recommended by your It’s A Secret Service Professional.

  • Please discuss continuing use of your regular regimen post-treatment.

  • Call the office if you have any difficulty swallowing, speaking, crusting or scabbing in the treatment areas, asymmetry of your smile or any other unusual symptoms.
