What Is Tesamorelin?
Tesamorelin is a 44-amino-acid peptide that mimics your body’s natural GHRH and prompts the pituitary gland to release its own growth hormone. In clinical studies of the branded product (Egrifta) in adults with HIV-associated excess abdominal fat, it reduced visceral fat over 26 to 52 weeks of daily use. It has not been evaluated by the FDA for general weight loss or body contouring. Your provider will discuss whether it fits your goals and health history.
